清道光《江阴县志》卷1《官署》：“乾隆二十三年改为顾山司，建署顾山镇。”卷2《镇保》：顾山镇“县东八十里。”嘉庆《清一统志》卷87《常州府二·关隘》有顾山镇巡司，“在江阴县西南”。西南恐误，今有顾山镇，在江阴市东南，与《江阴县志》合，当为顾山巡检司所在。
