康熙《常州府志》卷5《疆域》武进、光绪《武进阳湖合志》卷2《舆地志二》阳湖安丰北乡在县东北三十五里，村镇名有石堰镇、新安。1912年并阳湖入武进，今县东北有石堰、新安，当是。
