同治《湖州府志》卷22《村镇》：归安县“东林市在府城东南四十五里。《东林山志》：街逵宽衍，不异城郭中。胡《志》。”按胡《志》指乾隆年间胡承谋所修《湖州府志》，则可知嘉庆二十五年时应有此市。今《浙江省地图册》湖州市南有东林镇，当是。50万图作东林市。
