隋开皇三年（583年），废怀仁郡，陵州辖县六；普宁县（开皇十八年改为仁寿县）、蒲亭县、贵平县、籍县、井研县、隆山县①。开皇十一年（591年）置始建县。大业三年（607年），废州为隆山郡②。
①《隋书》卷29《地理上》隆山郡条：“仁寿，梁置懐仁郡，西魏改县曰普寜，开皇初郡废，十八年县改名焉。又西魏置蒱县，大业初置隆山郡，蒱县并入焉”，第828页。
