北魏兴安二年（453年），迁移于今阳城县城，先属建兴郡，后属建州安平郡①。北齐、北周因之②。隋属长平郡③。唐属泽州长平郡，天宝元年（742年）更名为阳城县④。

沁水又南，与濩泽水合，水出濩泽城西白涧岭下，东迳濩泽。《墨子》曰：舜渔濩泽。应劭曰：泽在县西北。又东迳濩泽县故城南。
守敬按：汉县属河东郡，后汉、魏因，晋属平阳郡，后魏属安平郡。《寰宇记》阳城县下云，后魏兴安二年，自今县西二十里濩泽故城，移于今理。宋阳城县即今县治。

“濩泽，今山西阳城县城关。《魏书?地形志》：濩泽，二汉属河东。晋属平阳。后属安平郡。《寰宇记》：阳城县，本汉濩泽县地，属河东郡，因濩泽为名，今县西三十里故城，即汉理所。后魏兴安二年自故城移于今理。唐天宝元年改濩泽为阳城县。按《周书?寇儁传》：子顒，濩泽郡公也。《北史?寇讚传》：孙儁，儁子顒，濩泽郡公也。遵考即顒之字。据顒墓志，则顒封濩泽县伯，进县公，非郡公也。时有濩泽县而无濩泽郡，当从墓志为正。”

“泽州高平郡，上。本长平郡，治濩泽，武德八年徙治端氏，贞观元年徙治晋城，天宝元年更郡名。”县六。阳城，中。本濩泽，天宝元年更名，天祐二年更曰濩泽。有铜，有锡，有铁。

高平郡，泽州。“后魏以其地置建州及高都、长平、安平三郡。北齐亦为建州及置平阳、高都二郡。后周并二郡为高平郡。隋初郡废，置泽州；炀帝初州废，置长平郡。大唐为泽州，或为高平郡。”领县六：
　　阳城 “汉曰濩泽县也。有嶕峣山、濩泽水、析城山，禹贡所谓‘砥柱、析城’也。”
