五代时，北平县往属易州，辖境缩小。⑴北宋建隆元年（960），易州北平县来属，⑵辖境扩大。

⑴《元丰九域志》卷2《河北路》第79页云北宋建隆元年（960年）易州北平县来属。北平县在唐代属定州，此处言自易州来属，当在唐末或五代时有过改属。因无具体时间，现暂作后周广顺元年（951年），待详考。
