三国魏复置。⑴治所在今河北枣强县枣强镇东的东、西故县村。⑵属安平郡。西晋当属安平国。

⑴吴增仅撰、杨守敬补正：《三国郡县表附考证》，《二十五史补编》本，第28页。
按：因无具体年份，暂作魏黄初元年（220年）置。
⑵嘉庆《清一统志》卷 49：“棗強故城，在今棗強縣東南。漢武帝元朔二年，封廣川惠王子宴為侯邑。後漢省。《地理風俗記》曰：東武城西北五十里有棗強城。《元和志》：縣西北至冀州六十八里，本漢舊縣，髙帝以留肹為棗強侯，其地棗木強盛，故名。《寰宇記》：棗強故城，在今縣西南十五里。齊天保七年自故城移於今縣東北十八里廣川城，隋開皇二年又移於今理。舊《志》：金天?四年，河溢，城圯，十年遷于縣西北三十里劉馬村，即今治。”（第9页A）
