约刘玄更始元年（公元23年）以广望亭县恢复旧名。⑴治所在今河北安平县驻地安平镇。⑵东汉时，先后属乐成国、安平国、信都郡。⑶三国魏属安平郡。⑷西晋属博陵国。⑸

⑴按：王莽败后，全国复汉旧郡、县名，但何时复名，未详。据《后汉书》卷11《刘玄刘盆子传》：更始即帝位，建元曰更始元年（23年），“是时海内豪桀翕然响应，皆杀其牧守，自称将军，用汉年号，以待诏命，旬月之间，徧于天下”。（2册，469页）据此，姑作刘玄更始元年（23年）复旧名。
