约东汉初平元年（190年）以涉侯国为县，属魏郡（1），三国魏黄初二年（221年）属广平郡（2），晋不改（3），十六国后赵、前燕、前秦、后燕并同（4），北魏天赐元年（404年）并入临水县（5）。治今河北涉县（6）。

（1）《后汉书志》卷20《郡国志》：魏郡，沙，侯国。（北京，中华书局，1965年，12册，3432页）《水经注疏》卷10《清漳水》：涉县，杨守敬疏：今本《两汉志》作沙，皆形近致误。（南京，江苏古籍出版社，1989年，上册，1009页）《三国志》卷1《魏志?武帝纪》：建安九年，“涉长梁岐举县降。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，1册，25页）按：《续汉书?郡国志》为冲帝永嘉元年（145年）至桓帝建和元年（147年）制度，则涉侯国降为县应在建和元年以后，建安九年（204年）以前，今姑作初平元年（190年）罢，此年董卓迁献帝至长安，东汉政局混乱激化。
