唐贞观六年（632）迁县治于今陕西延长县城，属延州。①天宝元年（742）属延安郡，干元元年（758）属延州。② 

注：
①《元和郡县图志》卷3?关内道三?延州?延长县：本秦肤施县地，后魏废帝元年于丘头原置广安县，隋仁寿元年以“广”字犯皇太子名，改为延安，大业末废。贞观六年，又置移于府北去斤川，今县是也。广德二年改为延长。（中华书局，1983 年，第77 页）
②《旧唐书》卷38?志第十八?地理一?延州中都督府：隋延安郡。武德元年，改为延州总管府，领肤施、丰林、延川三县，管南平、北武、东夏三州。四年，又管丹、广、达三州。贞观元年，罢都督府。开元二年，复置都督府，领丹、绥、浑等州。天宝元年，改为延安郡。干元元年，复为延州。（中华书局，1975 年，5 册，1410 页）",
