北宋雍熙元年（984）升零陵县东安场置。⑴治所即今湖南东安县驻地白牙市镇西南紫溪市。⑵属永州。元至元十四年（1277）属永州路。⑶明洪武元年（1368）属永州府。⑷至清末未变。⑸
