五代周显德六年（959年）改镇南军节度使置，治南昌府（今江西南昌市）。（1）领有洪、吉、袁、信州。（2）北宋开宝五年（972年）复为镇南军节度使。（3）

（1）司马光《资治通鉴》卷294《后周纪五》周显德六年（959年）：“唐更命洪州曰南昌府（今江西南昌市），建南都，以武清节度使何敬洙为南都留守。”（北京，中华书局，1956年，20册，9606页）朱玉龙《五代十国方镇年表?洪州》曰：镇南军节度使，“唐旧镇，天祐三年并归淮南杨氏有，仍以为镇南节度使。后周显德六年十一月，南唐以洪州为南昌府，建南都；节度使改称留守、尹。”（北京，中华书局，1997年，440页）
（2）《新唐书》卷68《方镇表五》乾元元年（758年）：置洪吉都防御团练观察处置使，领洪、吉、虔、抚、袁五州，治洪州。又上元元年（760年）：“洪吉观察使增领信州。”贞元四年（788年）：“江南西道观察使增领江州。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1903、1904、1910页）按：所领州，当不改。《新五代史》卷60《职方考第三》，吴及南唐均有以上七州。按：开平三年已不领虔州、抚州二州，龙德元年又不领江州。故现在只领洪、吉、袁、信州。
（3）北宋马令《马氏南唐书》卷17《朱令贇传》：“会林仁肇卒，以令贇为镇南军节度使。”（《四部丛刊》续编，15册，5页）据朱玉龙《五代十国方镇年表?洪州》下引《长编》谓：南都留守林仁肇死于开宝五年（972年）二月。（北京，中华书局，1997年，450、451页）",
