南朝梁太清三年（549年）改合州置。（1）治齐康（今广东省徐闻县南五里镇）。领有齐康郡。（2）陈同。（3）隋开皇九年（589年）平陈，南朝南合州废。（4）
注：
（1）《梁书》卷3《武帝纪下》太清三年（549年）七月甲子，诏曰：“合州为南合州。”（北京，中华书局，1973年，1册，92页）而《隋书》卷31《地理志下?合浦郡》海康县：“（梁）大同末，以合肥为合州，此置南合州。”（北京，中华书局，1973年，3册，884页）与之不同。
（2）胡阿祥《六朝疆域与政区》第二节《梁政区建置表》谓：合州治徐闻（今广东海康县）。领有齐康郡。（陕西，西安地图出版社，2001年，399页）按：南合州本合州，当作南合州也治徐闻，也领有齐康郡。而清洪齮孙《补梁疆域志》卷二《南合州》：南合州领有合浦、宋广、齐康、梁乐、齐乐四郡。（《二十五史补编》北京，中华书局，1956年，4册，4398、4399页）按：据《补梁疆域志》卷二《越州》：“州治，《齐志》镇临漳郡。《方舆纪要》临漳郡梁并入合浦，仍为越州治（今广西合浦县东北）。”（4册，4402页）当作当时合浦为越州治。宋广郡在越州西北，梁乐、齐乐二郡又在广州西北，离齐康郡迂远，不可能同属南合州。
（3）胡阿祥《六朝疆域与政区》第三节《陈政区建置表》谓南合州治今广东海康县。领有齐康郡。（陕西，西安地图出版社，2001年，410页）而臧励和《补陈疆域志》卷四：《南合州》谓南合州领有合浦、齐康、定川三郡。（《二十五史补编》北京，中华书局，1956年，4册，4469页）按：合浦郡，据《补陈疆域志》卷四：越州治合浦郡。（4册，4470页）定川郡又在罗州、越州之北，离齐康郡迂远。疑误。
（4）《隋书》卷31《地理志下?合浦郡》海康县：“（梁）大同末，以合肥为合州，此置南合州。平陈以此为合州。”（北京，中华书局，1973年，3册，884页）又卷2《高祖纪下》开皇九年（589年）正月：“韩擒虎进师入建邺，获其将任蛮奴，获陈主叔宝。陈国平，合州三十，郡一百，县四百。癸巳，遣使持节巡抚之。”（1册，32页）按：当作此年南朝南合州废。",
