南朝梁天监元年（502年）分广州置。（1）治双头洞（今广东罗定县西南）。领有平原、开阳、罗阳郡。（2）陈不改。（3）隋开皇九年（589年）南朝泷州废。（4）
注：
（1）《隋书》卷31《地理志下?永熙郡》：“梁置泷州。”又在泷水县下曰：“旧置开阳县，置开阳、平原、罗阳等郡。”（北京，中华书局，1973年，3册，882页）《嘉庆重修一统志》卷457《罗定直隶州》：“齐置广熙郡治龙乡县。梁改郡曰平原，兼置泷州。按：《陈?欧阳頠传》梁末为广州刺史，督十九州，中有双州。《旧唐志》梁置建州，又分建州之双头洞置双州。双、泷音同，疑即泷州也。”（《四部丛刊》，商务印书馆，1934年，457卷，171册，1页）故作南朝梁天监元年（502年）分广州置泷州。
