南朝梁天监元年（502年）徙置。治合浦（今广西浦北县南旧州村）。（1）领有合浦、永宁、百梁、安昌、龙苏、富昌、盐田等郡。（2）梁太平二年（557年）越州不领百梁、安昌等郡县。隋开皇九年（589年）灭陈，南朝越州废。（3）
注：
（1）清洪齮孙《补梁疆域志》卷二《越州》：“州治，《齐志》镇临漳郡。《方舆纪要》临漳郡梁并入合浦，仍为越州治（今广西合浦县东北）。”（《二十五史补编》北京，中华书局，1956年，4册，4402页）按：姑作梁天监元年（502年）废临漳郡，徙治合浦。
（2）清洪齮孙《补梁疆域志》卷二《越州》：领有合浦、永宁、百梁、安昌、龙苏、富昌、盐田等郡。又曰“其临漳郡及县，《方舆纪要》梁俱废。百梁、安昌等郡县，《一统志》，梁、陈时俱废。”（《二十五史补编》北京，中华书局，1956年，4册，4402页）按：姑作梁末即太平二年（557年）废百梁、安昌等郡（见百梁郡考），则越州当时领有合浦、永宁、龙苏、富昌、盐田等郡。
（3）《隋书》卷2《高祖纪下》开皇九年（589年）正月：“韩擒虎进师入建邺，获其将任蛮奴，获陈主叔宝。陈国平，合州三十，郡一百，县四百。癸巳，遣使持节巡抚之。”（北京，中华书局，1973年，1册，32页）按：当作此年南朝越州废。",
